Chandelier Makeover
Now I knew I could renew the look of my fans and that I could count with my hubby to do the electrical work, so I decided to refinish my light fixtures.

We had a chandelier in the dining room - nice looking, but it did not fit our style. It was brass, common looking. I wanted to give a different impression in the room. So what was there to do with it? The dining table and chairs under it, have an antique look to them - pewter finish, so why not match that look to the chandelier?

It sounded  like fun. Again, I did not have to spend much - I just to get one or two cans of paint. My husband, again, got on the ladder and down came the chandelier and out to the backyard. I got my silver color spray paint and I sprayed and sprayed until I covered all the gold that was showing.

Now comes the fun part! You need to get a product that they sell in the hardware store that when applied to the paint, gives it an antique look, then put some gloves on and grab a sponge. Sponge everywhere, as much as you like and you'll start seeing a pewter finish on the fixture right away! There you have a new look on your fixture.
